Instructional Design
I have spent the past two decades designing textbooks, online courses, and other educational resources for adult learners.

I’ve worked as a development editor and writer for Oxford and Cambridge University Presses, Pearson, National Geographic, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and McGraw Hill.
I have also worked as a corporate instructional designer for clients including the Ritz Carlton and Hilton hotel chains, Home Depot, the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, SEIU, and Opus Training.
As an instructional designer, I partner with subject matter experts to create immersive and interactive courses that help companies create a culture of learning, offer professional development and learning opportunities to employees, and solve business problems.
The ADDIE model is at the heart of my design work. When I approach a new project, I typically follow these steps:
- pinpoint the problems the materials will address
- identify the target audience
- set learner goals
- design and develop materials and weave in stories, case studies, scenarios, and interactive activities to support the content
- evaluate the extent to which learners have mastered the new information
I have experience working with AI to create content and videos and I am comfortable with a wide range of learning management systems from Articulate 360 to Adobe Captivate.
